From the Board, June 28, 2028
As the sun shines bright we hope this news letter finds you all enjoying your summer break filled with relaxation and fun adventures.
Wednesday night during our school board meeting we were able to talk about great achievements that are shaping our journey at Garfield Re-2. This year has been particularly significant as we've made strides in several areas.
During Shine the Light, Aspen Business Group reported on the Spring Staff and Parent survey. This data is instrumental in ensuring that we effectively meet the needs of our school community. We are grateful for the input provided by our parents and staff. Everyone’s voices are invaluable as we continue to grow and improve. Be on the lookout for the fall survey; we value your feedback.
Celebrating another milestone, our district proudly marked the completion of our first year of implementing our strategic plan! This initiative has already had a positive impact on our students and educators, enhancing our educational offerings and fostering a dynamic learning environment.
Summaries of academic achievement, career and college pathways, student wellness, staff success and community and family success were all highlighted during this presentation. It is worth watching!
Capital Projects & Finance teams presented the FY2024-25 Budget totaling $84,868,042, with $1,453,000 allocated to capital projects and highlighted the continued savings from the JCI project.
Our board unanimously approved this budget, which includes the previously approved 6% salary increase that was voted on and passed in May.
Additionally, we are pleased to announce the finalization of the BEDH-R Public Participation at Board Meetings policy, ensuring transparency and community involvement moving forward. We want to hear from our stakeholders!
As we look ahead to the summer break, we encourage our school community to rest, recharge, and enjoy quality time with loved ones. We are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead here at Garfield Re-2!
Wishing you all a safe and enjoyable summer!
