The Garfield Re-2 School District has engaged the Colorado Education Initiative (CEI) to assist the district in a comprehensive strategic planning process. The District is working to develop a community-based strategic plan that sets a future direction for the work of the district. This process will invite community members, parents, students, educators, and district staff to drive the direction of this plan.
The process will officially begin with a Board of Education listening session, but that is just the beginning.
In August and September, CEI will conduct several listening sessions, both virtually and in person, to gather information, feedback, hopes, dreams and questions from families, community and staff.
This is where we need your help.
There are several opportunities for you to help shape the Garfield Re-2 Strategic Plan.
PARTICIPATE IN A LISTENING SESSION
Dates and times for listening sessions will be coming soon - beginning around August 22. Many will be virtual, so you can participate from the comfort of your home.
We want to know:
• What makes Garfield Re-2 a great place? What binds us together?
• What skills should an exceptional graduate leave with?
• What is great about our District?
•What are the challenges that we have?

JOIN THE STEERING COMMITTEE
The application process is now closed. CEI and Garfield Re-2 will notify All applicants by August 26 if they are on the Steering Committee.
The Steering Committee will be the most time intensive part of the Strategic Planning process. This will be a group 20 - 30 people and consist of community members, staff, parents and Garfield Re-2 administrators that will provide the support for CEI as they conduct this process. This team will review data, help develop the profile of a graduate, help recruit people to participate in listening sessions and drive the conversation.
You must commit to participating in several meetings that are already set - some will be in person and some will be virtual. The schedule is below.

Garfield School District staff will review all applications and select a diverse team to support the development of the strategic plan.
All applicants will be notified by August 26 if they are on the Steering Committee.
