School Board Director Districts

Garfield Re-2 School District has five Director Districts created to have a similar number of residents in each district and provide representation from across all three Garfield Re-2 communities on the school board.

Below you will find the District map, a close up of how the director districts divide the City of Rifle and the legal description of the Director Districts.

If you are considering running for School Board, it is always the candidate's responsibility to ensure that they live in the Director District they are running for.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS OF SCHOOL DIRECTORS

Garfield Re-2 School District
Garfield County, Colorado

The Garfield Re-2 School District in the County of Garfield, State of Colorado, calls for nomination of candidates for school directors to be placed on the ballot for the regular biennial school election to be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

At this election two directors will be elected representing the following director districts: Director District A for a term of office of four years and Director District E for a term of office of four years. To be qualified, a candidate must have been a registered elector of the school district for at least 12 consecutive months before the election and a resident of the director district which will be represented. A person is ineligible to run for school director if he or she
has been convicted of committing a sexual offense against a child.

A person who desires to be a candidate for school director shall file a written notice of intention to be a candidate and a nomination petition signed by at least 50 eligible electors who are registered to vote in the regular biennial school election.

Nomination petitions may be obtained beginning August 6, 2025 at 839 Whiteriver Avenue Rifle, CO from Sharon Donohoue between the hours of 7:00am to 1:00pm and 2:00pm to 5:00pm Monday through Thursday and 8:00am to12:00pm on Friday.

Completed petitions shall be submitted to Sharon Donohoue no later than 12:00pm on August 29, 2025.
