School Year/School Calendar

 

The following procedures will apply to developing the school calendar.

 

1. A formal charge will be made by the Board to the Collaborative Solutions to develop the school calendar.

 

2. The Board will consider only those proposals developed by the Collaborative Solutions in accordance with this regulation.

 

3. A survey will be distributed to all parents and staff notifying them of the upcoming calendar development.

 

4. The Collaborative Solutions will appoint a subcommittee to formulate the calendar.  This subcommittee will consist of one representative from each of the following:

 

1. Elementary schools

 

2. Middle school/junior high

 

3. High school

 

4. Administration

 

5. Board of Education

 

5. The subcommittee will develop a calendar for presentation to the Collaborative Solutions at its February meeting.  The council will accept or reject the sub committee's recommendation at this time.

 

6. The Collaborative Solutions will present recommendations to the Board at a March meeting.  Relevant information regarding parents, employees and Collaborative Solutions suggestions will be presented.

 

7. If the Board accepts the proposed calendar, it will be adopted.  If the Board rejects the calendar, it will be returned to the coordinating council Collaborative Solutions for restructuring based on Board recommendations.
