Organization of Instruction
 

The Board of Education shall provide a system of education extending from preschool through grade 12.  This shall include an alternative high school program, special education for students with disabilities through age 21, and homebound instruction.  

 

The schools of the district shall be organized to present a unified program of instruction and shall be operated as a single system under the direction of the superintendent.

 

The grouping and housing of instructional levels in school facilities shall be in accordance with what is commonly called the PK4-5-8-9-12 plan.  Under this plan, the preschool and first five grades will be elementary schools; the middle schools will contain grades 6-8, and the high school will contain grades 9-12.
