Detention of Students

A school administrator or teacher may detain a student for disciplinary reasons after school hours, provided that the parent has been notified of the detention and, in the case of bus students, arrangements have been made for the student's transportation home.  In cases where transportation is required, 24-hour notice shall be given so that transportation may be arranged.

 

Students who are detained after school must never be left alone during their detention.  Their supervision must be provided or arranged for by the teacher or administrator who detains them.

 

Detention on any one day shall be limited to 60 minutes.
