Garfield Re-2 School Announces Finalists for Superintendent Interviews

Rifle, Colorado – The Garfield Re-2 School Board of Education is pleased to announce that they have selected four candidates to interview for their superintendent vacancy. The candidates selected for interviews are:

• Dr. Drew Adams - Louisville, Colorado

• Mr. Kirk Banghart - Salida, Colorado

• Mr. Timothy Renn - Canon City, Colorado

• Dr. Matthew Snyder - Cheraw, Colorado

Interviews are scheduled to be conducted on Friday, March 7, 2025. The public is invited to attend and listen to the school board interviews at Coal Ridge High School beginning at 8:50 a.m.

Community members will have the opportunity to meet the final candidates and submit input to the board about each of them during the Meet and Greet on Thursday evening from 4:30 - 6:00 followed by a Town Hall from 6:00 - 7:00 at Rifle High School.

The board intends to make their selection by Saturday, March 8, 2025. Garfield Re-2 Schools retained the services of McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C. to assist in conducting their search. The consultants reviewed, screened, and conducted extensive background checks on eighteen applicants

. On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, the consultants presented the applicants to the Board of Education and provided them detailed background information on each applicant. The board selected four candidates as finalists. After the superintendent has been hired, Dr. Christy Sinner and Dr. Ken Haptonstall will facilitate a Board/Superintendent workshop to assist in the establishment of performance objectives for the new superintendent.
